Members from the Pensacola State College Alumni Association Board celebrated PSC’s culinary programs by participating in a full-service dinner on November 12th. The dinner was to honor the board members for their dedication to the Alumni Association and give them the opportunity to enjoy the fine dining experience offered by the culinary and hospitality students.
PSC instructor and chef Jimmie Langham, also an alum, came out to greet the board members and their guests. Dr. Milton and Dona Usry were also enjoying the meal that November evening. The Usury’s were a wonderful addition since they are not only faithful supporters of PSC, but Dona is a Lifetime “Charter” Member of the Alumni Association. The dining room was set for minimal seating to remain cautious due to the ongoing pandemic, but during regular circumstances, it would have been a ‘sold out’ dining room.
PSC culinary students hosted a wonderful evening and dinner was superb. To top it all off guests not only enjoyed a five-course meal but a spectacular tableside Bananas Foster presentation. A hospitality student shared the sugary history of the famous desert which stems back to New Orleans in the early 1950s while demonstrating the thrilling fiery burst as guests admired from their seats.
The evening was such a hit, Alumni Association Board Members discussed having an event in the culinary dining room in the future.
An idea that allows them to partake in another delicious meal and bring further awareness to the talented students at PSC.
