Annual Fishing Excursion benefiting the Delta Kappa Alpha Fraternity Alumni Endowed Scholarship
The trip to DuFour’s Fishing Charters in Lafitte, Louisiana was once again described by participants as a tremendous success filled with great fellowship, great food, and lasting camaraderie. While windy and rainy conditions made fishing more challenging this year, the group unanimously agreed they would return next year to catch all the fish they left behind.
Eleven men participated in the annual fishing excursion, hosted by Alumni President Mike Thomas. PSC President, Dr. Ed Meadows also joined the group to cheer them on and enjoy the fellowship and renowned fish camp cuisine.
In the end, the event raised $7,750 in support of the Delta Kappa Alpha Fraternity Alumni Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship fund currently stands at $78,145, and with this year’s addition, the endowment will soon total an impressive $85,895. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the dedication and continued efforts of Mike Thomas and all the participants who have supported the event throughout the years.
The annual fishing excursion first began in 2019 and has since become a meaningful tradition supporting student scholarships at Pensacola State College.
